Want to become India’s next bestselling author? Meghna Pant’s writing workshop will help you turn from an aspiring storyteller to a published and successful author. The workshop will guide budding novelists on how to develop as writers, sell their novels to publishers, get published, market their novels and stay published. Participants can bring in their written work (the first 5 pages of a novel or short story), which will be critiqued. You will leave the workshop with a developed awareness of craft, a new perspective on a writer’s life, and a new confidence in your ability to be published.

Here are the details about the Workshop you need to know.

Duration : Six Hours 11 am – 5pm

0-1 hour – How To Write Your First Novel (the story formula, characters, plot, theme, narrative style and discipline)
1-2 hour – How To Publish Your First Novel
2-3 hour – How To Market Your First Novel
3-5 hour – Get your work critiqued – Participants can bring in the first 5 pages of their novel/short story.
5-6 hour – Author’s Personal Journey On Getting Published + Q&A Session

Meghna Pant is an award-winning Indian author, journalist and TEDx Speaker. Her debut collection of short stories Happy Birthday (Random House India, 2013) was longlisted for the Frank O’Connor International Award 2014, the world’s biggest short story prize. One And A Half Wife (Westland, 2012) – her debut novel – won the national Muse India Young Writer Award and was shortlisted for several other awards, including the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Meghna is also known for having abridged the world’s longest epic, The Mahabharata, into one hundred tweets that The Guardian (UK) quoted as ‘wonderfully descriptive and paced’. She has previously worked as a business news anchor with Times Now, NDTV and Bloomberg-UTV.

Her short stories have been published in over a dozen international literary magazines, including Avatar Review, Wasafari, Eclectica and QLRS.

Booker-shortlisted author Jeet Thayil has described her writing as ‘deft and expertly-tuned’, award-winning author Jerry Pinto as ‘competent’, bestselling author Ashwin Sanghi as ‘provocative and inspirational’, and renowned international author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni as ‘surprising and moving’.
