Where We At 003: Consolidate feat. Aerate Sound, Disco Puppet & _RHL

Consolidate was founded by Bangalore based producer Rahul Giri, a.k.a. _RHL, first as a Facebook page in 2013. The label became an official entity with the release of Peach Tea Since July, a collaborative track featuring electro-acoustic group Machli, and producers Disco Puppet and Skippy. FRNDS & FMLY ’16 released in February is the labels first compilation.

_RHL // Bangalore based producer _RHL aka Rahul Giri has many avatars. He’s one half of downtempo electronic duo Sulk Station, the face behind the abstract electronic sounds of _RHL, and, as his music collective/record label Consolidate proves time and again, Bangalore’s busiest music fanatic.

His solo project _RHL is open ended, drawing influences from hip-hop, footwork, experimental electronic music and more. His name regularly features on lists of Indian producers to watch out for (Border Movement, Wild City, Thump, Pepsi MTV Indies). Rahul was recently picked to represent India at the Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp for the Dubai edition (Feb 2016). He is currently working on his debut EP, expected to release 2016.

Straddling hip-hop, footwork, grime and anything in between there’s no limit to what a _RHL show can or cannot do.

Aerate Sound // Rohit Mohan, Joe Panicker and visual artist Naquash recently came together to create Aerate Sound, a band that started as an experiment to try and create live sounds and visuals simultaneously. Heavily influenced by new media and hip-hop, Aerate Sound’s music has elements from music across the spectrum. The trio are compulsive producers, who have already begun working on debut release due out later this year.

Disco Puppet // Disco Puppet is an electronic project by Shoumik Biswas, the drummer/vocalist of Space Rock/Post Metal band Space Behind The Yellow Room. Disco Puppet’s sound is not in any particular space, but an exploration of sound.

In 2014, Disco Puppet released his debut Astronot EP and has since collaborated with Machli, Oceantied, Josh Fernandez from Indie band The F-16s. Work on his debut album is also underway.
