Wanted Yesterday is a band formed by two seasoned admen: Rajeev Raja and Subhash Kamath. The name comes from a cliché describing the often-unreasonable deadlines in the ad world: “This is wanted yesterday!” Since the band plays a lot of music from the ‘60s and ‘70s, the name also serves as a cheeky descriptor to the kind of music they revel in.
I first heard Naama play at a college festival audition back in 2009. I recall the text I sent to a fellow musician friend, “Joe, we’re auditioning for the band event this year. I don’t know who’ll play bass with us, but I’ve found us a drummer.”
