Preserving their experiences and impressions, in the midst of an age of digital photography.
Allen Shaw, an artist, illustrator and animator and globetrotter, takes his sketchbook with him wherever he goes, not missing an opportunity to create his own charming personal mementos to take back home with him.
Shaw was born in India but currently lives in Germany and has been to many places looking for fodder for his journal including Hungary, Japan, Poland and many others. For this exhibition, the artist will be showcasing his paintings made during many trips to Kutch, Gujarat over the course of the last two decades. He feels especially connected to the nomadic Rabari community based there, as he thinks of himself as a wanderer or gypsy too.
