They strive to find new and innovative production and performance techniques to blend together melodies, harmonies and time signatures into a soundscape that has the listener undertaking a journey through the music.
Tansane’s music is inspired by innovative pioneers in their fields such as Chopin and Tchaikovsky in orchestral western classical to Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma in hindustani classical, to Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis and John Coltrane in jazz, to Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone in soul, to Chet Baker in blues, to Nicolas Jaar in electronic and Bonobo and The Cinematic Orchestra in trip-hop, to name a few among many giants, past and present.
They’re playing a multitude of special, eclectic tunes as they score the sunset.
