The Museum’s permanent collection includes dioramas and clay models showcasing the lifestyles, traditions and culture of Mumbai in the 19th century.
Traditional Indian games, a shikar or hunt, various agricultural processes, mythological episodes from Ramayana & Mahabharata and development plans for Mumbai and its surrounding villages are some of the themes reflected in Museum’s diorama collection.
Inspired by these dioramas, kids are encouraged to create their own 3-D dioramas narrating imaginative stories or setiings!
