The China Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO), in the 15 years since its inception, has won great acclaim. In 2009, it was named one of the most inspiring orchestras by Gramophone. Xia Xiaotang is one of China’s rising star conductors. He is currently permanent conductor of the CPO and principal conductor of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra. The programme will include Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony.
