AAKAR – A collection of paintings

Aakar is a coming together of four women artists – Anna Kurian, Anuja Sane, Karishma Wadhawa and Radhika Bawa. All 4 artists have developed their own style over a number of years of studio practice and work with different media.
A painting, in its most elemental form, is a confluence of shapes (aakars). At the beginning, the “aakar” is more external, superficial and then through study, the artist is able to peel off layer upon layer of this externality to reach a more deeper one – some do it with texture, some with color, some with geometric shapes. That is what the artists showcase here.
